JOIN RFRD

Your Community Needs You! Be the Neighbor Your Neighbor Can't Live Without.

Applications are accepted throughout the year, and Raymond Fire Department (RFRD) welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and experience levels. The personal experiences you bring to the department can make a difference in many emergency scenes. Become part of a group of highly skilled and trained men and women who have solemnly committed to helping their friends, family, and neighbors. Become a Raymond firefighter!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.

  • High school graduate.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

As a paid-per-call department, RFRD depends upon the timely and dedicated response of members who selflessly serve the community when the alarm sounds. Under the direction of RFRD officers, a paid-per-call firefighter is responsible for responding to calls and extinguishing fires, protecting life and property, and operating and maintaining fire equipment, apparatus, and quarters. The position requires training in using apparatus, tools, and equipment and performing hazardous tasks under emergency conditions, which may require strenuous exertion in smokey and cramped surroundings. Firefighters respond to emergency medical incidents to assist ambulance personnel in the care and transfer of patients. Members are offered competitive compensation, paid training, and uniforms. State certification classes in firefighting and emergency medical services (EMS) are provided at no cost. Our dedicated firefighters and EMTs also volunteer many hours in the community at local schools and church events.

Let us show you how rewarding joining Raymond Fire & Rescue can be.
